A Prisoner of His Own Bed!

This is what happens when you don't listen to Mommy!
Just kidding! In all seriousness, it is what happens when your almost-2-year old learns to crawl out his crib! Jack decided on Friday that he could repeatedly crawl out his crib and that he didn't have to stay in it, no matter how many times Mommy put him back in. The last time he tried to crawl out he was straddling the rail about ready to fall on his head. Mommy and Daddy frantically searched for solutions (frantic would be an understatement considering the babysitter was coming in a few short hours) and finally called the pediatrician to get her opinion about a "crib tent". After getting the thumbs up, Mommy quickly ran to the baby supply store to buy it and install it before having to leave for the evening. Crisis averted!!

On a side note, many people have asked why we didn't just move him into a toddler bed. We honestly don't think Jack is ready for that big step. Maybe in a few months, but not now. This is just another hurdle that comes along with having an insanely tall child :)

New Pool

When Jack Jack woke up from his nap today he was pleasantly surprised to see his new pool waiting for him in the backyard. Mommy and Daddy think he likes it. What do you think?

Water Water Everywhere!

Jack + Garden Hose= Maximum Cuteness

Playing Outside

What could me more "summery" than blowing bubbles and playing in a sandbox??

Myno! Myno! Myno!

Jack is madly in love with his dog Milo. He calls him "Myno" and nothing makes Jack happier than getting hugs and kisses from his Myno.

He Picked It Out Himself!

What do you think of the outfit Jack put together??

Anyone Wanna Play?

Holy Guacamole!

Jack loves guacamole. Can you tell?

Is this really going to last an entire year??

Don't let this cute angelic face fool you!We seem to have come down with a horrible case of the "Terrible Twos" and Jack is not even 21 months old!!!! Here is a list of all the things he has done today (and its only noon)!

*put all of his pancake pieces down the back of his shirt, followed by his fork

*ate last night's peas out of the trash can (they were covered in coffee grounds)

*ripped flowers off the plants Mommy bought at Home Depot this morning

*tore out the fish from his pop up book

*pulled all the books off of his book shelf right after Mommy put them all back

*dumped out all of his folded clean clothes from the basket

*nose-dived off the chair onto the ottoman (barely making it!)

*smeared ketchup from his turkey hotdog all over his hands and tray

*tipped over the big kitchen trashcan 4 different times while yelling "HEYYYY"

*hung from the counter of the kitchen island like a monkey

*fed Milo craisins

*attempted to remove his pants and diaper AGAIN

Mommy will probably be bailing him out of jail later this afternoon ;)

We'll Miss You Grandma Ruby

Mommy's grandmother (and Jack's great grandma) Ruby passed away last night at the ripe old age of 92 (almost 93). Jack was fortunate enough to spend a good deal of time with her in his short life and Mommy and Daddy have wonderful memories of the fantastic woman that she was. She will be missed dearly.
Also, Mommy's best friend Sarah suffered a loss last night too. Her husband Mark's father passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Brad was a wonderful father and husband and even though Mommy only met him a couple times, she could tell he was a very special human being. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McKee family.

Please keep our family and Sarah's family in your prayers today.

Congrats Aunt Tricia!

Jack's Aunt Tricia graduated this past weekend from Regent University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. We are so proud of her!

Jack decided that he wants to be just like Aunt Tricia! Of course his cap and gown will be from UVA though!!!

Still a Ladies' Man...

Jack's love for the ladies continues. This is what Mommy found when she went looking for Jack while he playing at his Aunt Tricia's house. Just call him Hugh. Hugh Heffner!

Aren't Markers Supposed To Be Used On My Head?

Jack likes to color with his "ho's" (markers or crayons) but he thinks it is much more fun to color himself rather than paper. Here he took an orange marker to his head. He also colored his entire leg and the bottom of his feet :)

Getting Comfortable!

Jack knows how to watch hotel television in comfort...
